Geddington Brickyard Garden Work Day Sunday

GBG Volunteer Work Day
Sunday 12 May, 10am – 4pm

at Brickyard Garden,
top of Wood Street

We need a big push to get jobs done in preparation for our GBG Celebration event on Sunday 30th June. Come for as little or long as you can. There will be a DIY ‘Bring Your Own’ BBQ on the go from around 1-2pm to keep up energy levels and provide a much-needed break!

There is lots of light, medium and heavy work to do. No skills required… just enthusiasm!

Our THREE Priority Jobs are:

  • Extend path and create a small paved area around our ‘giant bench’ for a turning circle for wheelchairs and to define the area of the reading circle. Paving skills? (Medium/Heavy work).
  • Make a start on creating a permanent, rainwater catchment system using the project workshop extension roof to overcome any future drought situations. Starts with heavy digging (requiring pickaxe and muscle!) to locate water containers… and continues beyond our Work Day (?) with guttering/plumbing skills.
  • Make good and weather-proof our wooden garden furniture. (DIY/Light).

Please bring you own DIY and digging tools if possible, drinking water and something to cook on the BBQ if you’re staying for the full session. We’ll provide a container of tap water in lieu of a ‘beer barrel’!

For more details on priority jobs, please:

Or post question/interest on Geddington Brickyard Garden FB page

We hope to have an enjoyable, hard-working day together… and get lots done.

Thanks from the GBG Team
Lynette, Ian, Brenda, Nicky
