A43 Corby Link Road Diversions & Closures

We gave news that the road through Little Oakley would be closed from 19 August, however, the good news is that the road from Newton to Little Oakley is now open.

The sign, that had been there since last October, said it would open this October, but with parts of the new link road ahead of schedule, it means that this road can be in use once again.

        Hello Yvonne
Thanks for your comment about the closure of the A43 from 15-19th September.
We have tried to keep as up to date as we can about the road situation. You may have noticed that, since July 22, we have posted 5 articles on it, the last one being detailed information from Northamptonshire Highways, the authority concerned with this construction. However,it is a very fluid situation, with unexpected changes to the timetable. For instance the Little Oakley Road from Newton was not meant to open until October, but was opened in August. The construction is ahead of schedule, which no doubt accounts for that.
We go out searching for most of the information that appears on this site, but also rely on information supplied to us from official sources for the purposes of accuracy. It is a pity that none of us on the committee travel regularly up or down the A43, or we wouldn’t have missed the sign that you mention. I suspect that this can only have gone up recently, as the information from Highways on September 3rd (only 5 days ago), was that the A43 would be closed from Monday 9th September for two weeks (25th).
I know that we (all 3 of us) have other commitments today (Sunday) but, no doubt one of us will investigate the sign shortly.
Perhaps you could let me now where you saw the sign?
        Thanks
        Pam
