Trundling on!

Sunday 13 September
saw the Geddington Volunteer Fire Brigade’s annual
TRUNDLE !
taking place in the Recreation Field.
True to the posters and the advertising, there was food, music and games.
- The Menu
- The Ingredients
- The Servers – Caitlin, Amelia & Corinne
- And, of course, Ice Cream
- The Musicians
- Essential equipment
There were games and the rules for the first game meant each member of the team had to carry the plastic container or beer barrel, depending on age, down to the cone and back, then when all members had managed this, they had to pick up the rope and pull the Queen Eleanor several yards. The team with the shortest time was the winner.
- Carrying the plastic containers down the course
- And back
- Pulling The Queen Eleanor several yards, all in the shortest time possible
- Kettering Rugby Club Under 13s
- The Fire Brigade’s cask carrier
- The Holly Stars tugging
- The GVFB tugging
Teams taking part included:
- Defending Champions: the Knights of the Boughton Round Table – Sarah, Becky, Matthew, Percival (aka David) & Sally
- The Minions
- The Holly Stars
- Kettering Rugby Club Under 13s
- The Football Boys
- And last, but not least – The GVFB
GVFB co-ordinators, Mark and Nigel were on hand to see fair play, work the PA, marshall the GVFB troops, drink some beer and generally make sure that everyone there joined in and had some fun.
- The GVFB Trundle Co-ordinators – Mark & Nigel
- Assembling the troops
I think they did that with aplomb.
