The No 8 bus lives on – at least for a year.

Following on from the news last May that the No 8 bus route has been saved from extinction, the promised new timetable has now been issued. In a statement from Liz Ramsey, part of the Lets Gedd Going Group, Liz has said:
“It is a great relief to report that the new timetable has been finalised and will commence in late August. It is funded for a further year, so we really need to ‘use it or lose it’, now having campaigned long and hard to retain its service.
This is largely due to the efforts of Alison Holland, John Padwick, myself and a small working party. The actual date of commencement will be available nearer the time, and at that time I will also attach links to Traveline, National Rail and Stagecoach, useful for onward journeys.”*

Great news and thanks to those who’ve worked so hard to get another year’s grace. Sadly, my partner and another traveller were left stranded last Friday when the bus didn’t turn up in Queen Eleanor Road!
