I am doing research into my husbands family. His great uncle was called William Frederick Hobbs 1903 – 1977. He married Elizabeth Denton in Kettering. My research leads me to John M Hobbs and I was wondering if you could pass my details on to the person with this name just in case he is the person I am looking for. Please accept my apologies if he is not the person. Thank you.

I attended the Nikolsky Ensemble concert last night – what an absolute treat! Sergei Maslov singing the Serbian Chant was perhaps the most beautiful thing I have ever heard.
Thanks to everybody who organised such a lovely evening.

My brother in law moved to Geddington and on a recent visit he gave me three Newsletters. Unfortunately not issue 153, which has part 2 of Melvyn Hopkins ‘Gone’. Are any of the Nesletters available on a web page as I would love to read the missing part. On our visit, my wife and I fell in love with Geddington.

Hello Barry
If my scanner was working, I would copy the article and email it to you, but although I only bought my printer/scanner less than 4 weeks ago, it has stopped working and, of course, I can’t take it back to the shop at present. What I can do is contact The Newsletter team and ask if there is a spare copy to send to you, or better still email it to you.
Regards, Pam

A very big sincere Thank You to the volunteers who kindly keep Geddington Graveyard neat and tidy. Much appreciated by those of us whose loved ones are there.

The recent series on ‘Women of Geddington’ has prompted me to pose this: I wonder how many Geddington baby girls were named Eleanor after the Queen. I know a lady in Kettering who was but never lived in the village although had family there.

Very sad to hear that former Geddington and Weekley Rector, Richard Dorrington, has died. Thoughts and prayers for his wife, Bryony, and all family and friends at this difficult time.

Thankyou Sandra for this very sad news. I have placed some photographs of him on Facebook–Historical Geddington.

Thank you Melvyn; I didn’t know there was a Historical Geddington site so will look there. Mr Dorrington’s death was announced in Geddington, Newton & Little Oakley Parish Council Facebook on which his son, Nathan, acknowledged peoples’ condolences and memories.
